Week 6 to Christmas - Stitched Greenery Die and Frosted Gingerbread

What a busy week it has been!  Back to working a couple of days in the office and traffic sucks! Soccer practice and school drop off and pick ups are back on. So glad its finally the weekend for a much needed sleep in and some time for blogging.

Todays card is my modern twist on a Christmas card using non traditional Christmas colours.

What do you think? Watch this on my YouTube HERE

What you will need:

  • Frosted Gingerbread stamp and die bundle
  • Standard size card base in Basic white thick - Top folding card so would be 29.7cm x 10.5cm scored at 14.9cm or 11" x " scored at 5½"
  • Silver Foil card layer 14.4cm x 10cm  or 5¼" x  4"
  • Soft Succulent card layer 13.9 x 9.5cm or 5" x  3 ¾"  which I embossed with the Stitched Greenery Die
  • Silver Foil card layer 10.3cm x 7.5cm or 4 1/8" x  2 ¾"
  • Basic White layer 10cm x 7.2cm or 4" x 2 5/8"

** To save on card stock I did cut out my detailed ornament die piece from the small silver foil piece and the outline from the Soft Succulent card layer as these will be covered.

To assemble the card, I adhered the silver die cut with the matching outline die using Tombow and then threaded through the silver thread from the Simply Elegant trim before unravelling the ends so the individual thread fibers fan out.

Next I stamped the sentiment Happy Holidays on the small Basic White piece before adhering the ornate piece.

I then layered this on the embossed Soft Succulent layer before layering this onto the larger silver foil layer and then finally onto the card base.

Lastly I used some gems for the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewel (the light blue ones worked very well with the Soft Succulent.

Some alternatives -

All I did for this one is added some silver ribbon that I had just to add a different look

And this one is in your more traditional Christmas colours:
