Eleven weeks to Christmas guys - Welcome back to my 12 weeks to Christmas series.
The series will bring you a quick and simple Christmas projects that are quick and easy to make so you can mass produce or make in a hurry. This one definitely fits the bill and I also used minimal materials - perfect for those with limited supplies or just starting out.
Todays card is a fun layout that I have used previously and thought it was a great way to show you how to use the images in your designer series paper (DSP) and if hoard your scraps like me, á great way to use up those long strips of DSP.
What I also love about this is using the die to cut out our DSP we can show off the cute images without fussy cutting them.
Watch me make it on my Youtube channel HERE
What you will need:
* Sweet Little Stockings Stamp set
* Black Memento Ink
* Standard size card base in thick Basic White - Top folding card so would be 29.7cm x 10.5cm scored at 14.9cm or 11" x 4¼" scored at 5½"
* Die cut square of the Designer Series paper of your choice - I used the one from Sweet Stocking because I cannot get enough of the cute doggies and cats. My square die is one I had in my stash which measures about 6.4cm x 6.4cm (approx 2½" x 2½" ).
* Piece of the Evening Evergreen cardstock just big enough to give mat your die cut DSP providing a small border. Mine measures 6.8cm x 6.8cm (approx 2 5/8" x 2 5/8")
* Strip of coordinating DSP or even coloured cardstock would work here 1.5cm x 14.9cm or ½" x 5½" or you can skip this - I will have an example below without that strip across the left hand side. These were scraps from a previous project so I thought it would be a great way to use up those scrappy strips.
First I matted the DSP onto the Evening Evergreen layer using Tombow multi purpose glue. I also used this to adhere the strip of the DSP along the left hand side edge of my basic white card base.
Once these were in position I was able to figure out where I wanted to stamp my sentiment. I LOVE this sentiment "Santa Paws is coming to Town!" from the Sweet Stocking Stamp set. I stamped this in the black memento ink directly on the my card base just below the DSP image.
And that is it. How quick and simple is this one?!
Once again I like to share some more ideas for you. This one is from the same DSP series because I just love this golden retriever. I did emboss the front of the card base with this one and matted him on some Bumblebee cardstock.
This one is from the Penguin Place DSP and the "Christmas Greetings" is also from Sweet Little Stockings stamp set.
Don't worry I haven't forgotten about you cat lovers. How adorable is this kitty in a box? Here I didnt use the strip of paper across the left hand side. I did use up some retired DSP to mat the image.
