Welcome back! Today I have finally cut up my Expressions in Ink Designer Series Paper (DSP) OMG! Okay, I only made a cut on 2 sheets but this paper is just so beautiful but I am glad I did. I also used this layout to make 4 other cards including some retired DSP that I have been hoarding. So hopefully this inspired you to make this card and use up some of that beautiful paper.
This card layout was actually inspired by a Pinterest picture from Stamping with Jamie you using the Playful Pets DSP. I had to CASE (Copy and selectively edit) the card because I just loved how it look and the way it showcased 2 different DSP patterns.
I shared the card with some retired DSP as I'm sure many of us are still hoarding some of the paper like me!!
I used a Just Jade card base 21cm x 14.9cm scored @10.5cm (or 8" x 5 ½" scored at 4"
Next I cut a piece of the DSP (this is probably the hardest step guys!) 5cm x 14.9cm (2" x 5 ½") and layered it over a piece of Polished Pink card stock 5.5cm x 14.9cm (2¼ " x 5 ½")
I then used another piece of DSP and I cut this 1cm x 30cm (½" x 12") and then cut it down to 3 equal strips 1cm x 10cm or ½" x 4". Leave 1 strip aside for the decorating the card insert. The other 2 strips to be matted on card stock - 1 used gold but you can use a matching colour from the DSP leaving the tiniest of border. About 2mm border around (1/8")
For the focal piece I used piece of Basic White card stock 6.7cm x 11.1cm (2 7/8" x 3 7/8") matted over a piece of Polished Pink 7cm x 11.4cm (3"x 4") and used dimensionals to adhere this to my card base.
I cut out the leaf die from the Artistically Inked bundle and adhered that onto this Basic white piece and used a sentiment from my stash using the tombow multi purpose glue.
After some more ideas? Here are the other 4 cards I made using this layout. I have really been trying to use up my DSP stash to allow me to make room for some new ones! So for those hoarding their paper I hope these ones inspired you to use some of your stash.
