Spring is finally here in Melbourne Australia - YAY!! As I go for my daily walks I can already see the change in season with lots of blossoms trees around which inspired this card.
Now I know these are not your typical blossom colours. I did try and making this card with a softer colour palette but I much prefer this Calypso Coral one.
Watch me make it on Youtube HERE What you will need:
Okay this card started as a simple card but I kept adding elements to it and the list of supplies is probably a lot more than I would normally use when make a card but it was worth it!
For the card stock you will need:
* Card base is in Calypso Coral which I wanted as a top folding card so it was 29.8cm x 10.5cm scored at 14.9cm (or 11" x 4" scored at 5 ½")
* The next layer piece is in the basic white 14.4cm x 10cm or 5¼"x 4" which I did emboss using the Tasteful Textiles embossing folder. I used multipurpose tombow to adhere this to the card base.
* I then adhered a piece of the Paper Lattice (part of the Bloom Where You're Planted product suite to the Basic white layer.
* Next, I took a piece of the You're a Peach Designer Series Paper (DSP) cut out using the largest scalloped die from the Stitched So sweetly die set. This was adhered on top of the paper lattice piece.
* For the sentiment, I used a piece of Basic White cut out from the 2nd smallest scalloped die from the same die set.
Next I did my stamping:
* I stamped the 2 leaf/branch stamp in Pear Pizzazz and 2 x of the peach blossoms
* The peach blossoms I stamped first in Pale Papaya using my stamping tool, and then I sponged one side of the blossoms with Calypso Coral just to give a bit of variation to the colour of the petals
*Using the matching dies to cut both the leaf/branch and the blossoms out.
* I used the "Thanks so much" stamp from the Sweet as Peach stamp set in Calypso Coral ink and used dimensionals to adhere this on top of the DSP.
Once all these pieces were on, I arranged the branch pieces and adhered them using dimensionals. I also used 2 gold pieces from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera pack and tucked them under the sentiment.
Lastly I used the Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels to embellish.
what do you think? I loved how it turned out and the creative mojo was definitely in full swing with this card as I think I grabbed so many other elements from outside this product suite.
I also made this in Petal Pink
