So one of my goals this year is to really build content for my blog and youtube channel. I am really loving these various card challenges mainly because they provide the design layout and more importantly a deadline for me to work to.
This is the card I did for the Global Design Project #GDP306
This card is to celebrate that winter is almost finished here, although I don't get snow where I live but thought it would be a great theme for a wintry card because I wanted to use the adorable polar bear that I fussy cut out from the Penguin Place Designer Series Paper (DSP) which is actually FREE with Sale-a-bration promotion currently taking place (ends 30 Sept 2021).
What you will need:
- Basic White thick card base 21cm x 10.5cm scored at 14.9cm or 11" x 4" scored at 5½ "so its a top folding card.
- Just Jade layering piece 14.4cm x 10cm or 4" x 5 ¼"
- Basic White layer piece for the card insert 14.4cm x 10cm or 4" x 5 ¼"
- Basic white piece cut out using the 2nd largest Stitched so Sweet scalloped edge frame die
- Polar Bear fussy cut out from Penguin Place DSP (you can substitute any picture here if you don't have the DSP.
In regards to stamping, I used clear versamark ink to stamp the snowflake images on my Just Jade piece to create a background. I then added white embossing powder and heat set this with my heat gun.
On the Basic White scalloped piece, I stamped the sentiment from the same Snowflake Wishes stamp set in Just Jade ink.
To make the polar bear pop I did use my blending brush to add some Just Jade on the scalloped piece. It does not matter if its blotchy as I knew that area would be covered by the polar bear. If you dont have one of the new blending brushes, I think a sponge dauber would also work.'
Lastly I used dimensionals to adhere the polar bear to the scalloped piece and then to the card base. Am so happy how this card turned out. Don't forget to check out other projects at the Global Design Project blog HERE
