Basic watercolouring

Heya! Hope everyone has been staying safe and healthy.

We are only midway through the week and I am already tired hahaha

Something a bit different today with a bit of watercolouring. I will put it out there that I am definitely not an artistic by any means of the imagination. I do enjoy watercolouring though as it doesn't have to be perfect. You don't have to stay within the lines so I really enjoyed the process of putting this one together.

First thing I did was stamp the large bouquet image from the Ornate Style set onto my Whisper white layer 14.1cm x 9.7cm or 4 3/4" x 3 1/2" with the Versamark Ink and then sprinkled over gold embossing powder before using my heat gun to set the image.

I then stamped Blushing Bride directly onto an acrylic block, and using my water painter, I squeezed some of the water from the painter onto the block and mixed until you get the right color you want. The more water, the lighter the colour.

I coloured the parts of the flower I wanted before moving to my next colour, using the same method. I used Bumble Bee to colour some of the other flowers and Pear Pizzazz for the leaves. You can use whatever colors you want. To clean the painter in between colours, all you need to do is squeeze out more water and wipe clean.

Once I finished colouring I then used the same painter and flicked paint around the bouquet to create a bit of speckling around the image.

I then stamped my sentiment with versamark ink and again, used my gold embossing powder set with heat gun. The sentiment I used for this card was Thank you from 'Peaceful Moments' stamp set. This has quickly become one of my favorites because it has so many sentiments but the beautiful font is what I love about this set.

Now, at this stage because of both the heating and the water on the paper, it did have a bit of warping. So I did let it dry before I flatten the cardstock by placing at the bottom of some heavy objects for a couple of hours.

Once that was ready, I used liquid glue to adhere the image onto my gold foil layer and then finally onto my white card base.

Definitely need lots of thank you cards at the moment.

Again, if you have any questions or live in Australia and would like to purchase any of the items I used for this card, please feel free to email me at atomal288@gmail.com or use the link on the right hand side.

Thanks again for spending some time with me.

Until next time, stay safe and happy.
